Level : Shallow Water Training

Take this course if you have mastered the basic flying skills with a land based training kite. Learning in shallow water is a great way to quickly progress and learn from your mistakes. Providing a forgiving environment to stand up in allows you to try a skill over and over until mastery, while providing a bit of a safety net. You may need 6 hours, you may need 20 hours of shallow water training depending on your skill level and progression. As we can never control the wind it is highly recommended that you book multiple days on the calendar as we often are booked out 3-4 weeks in advance and you can always upgrade to Deep water support as you progress. You are likely to want this focused training if you are new to the sport, working on body-dragging, board recovery skills, water starts or water relaunching the kite. Let us know your skill level and we can recommend if this type of training will fit your needs. We also recommended that you are a confident swimmer.

Do not sign up for this training if you are not at the appropriate skill level or have not mastered the skills requirements of IKO Level 2. If you have reserved multiple Shallow Water Training days you can always request to upgrade to this support. Your instructor can help you decide if this would be beneficial based on your skill level. If you don’t know, describe your level and experience and ask our team! We utilize jetski support and BBTalkin radio helmet coaching system to get you into deeper waters away from other kiters, so you can begin to dial in your kite and board riding skills for longer runs and rides, ultimately leading to the skill of riding upwind!
If you sign up for this level training, but your instructor can see that you are not at the skill level to utilize this support, they may opt to work with you in shallow water, and of course you will be credited for any amount extra you already paid for.
